Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Determine design specification and select components for an industrial refrigeration system
  • Obtain and implement work health and safety (WHS) and environmental requirements for the work area
  • Determine design requirements from client requirements, job specifications, briefings and/or discussions with appropriate personnel
  • Identify and interpret relevant codes and standards
  • Consult with appropriate personnel to ensure that work is coordinated effectively with others
  • Obtain equipment and resources needed for the task in accordance with organisational procedures and check for correct operation and safety
  • Select the most suitable design for an industrial refrigeration system to meet the specified requirements
  • Plan design development work to meet scheduled timelines
  • Check system design draft for compliance with the design brief, regulatory requirements and environmental standards

Assessment Tasks

Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
